The ClimatePRO project is a part of the"Odisha Integrated Irrigation Project for Climate Resilient Agriculture," project being supported by the World Bank. At its core, ClimatePRO is dedicated to enhancing the resilience of smallholder farmers in Odisha.
The ClimatePRO project led by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in collaboration with the Department of Water Resources (DoWR), Government of Odisha and facilitated by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment (DA&FE) Government of Odisha is a part of the"Odisha Integrated Irrigation Project for Climate Resilient Agriculture," project being supported by the World Bank. Areas of Focus
ClimatePRO is focused on enhancing the climate and livelihood resilience and boosting the incomes of the farmers, especially small,marginal and women farmers, in a sustainable manner.

Outcome
Facilitated the release of two early new DSR-suitable varieties
Infused five new rice varieties into the seed chain
Evaluated crop suitability and facilitated infusion of four improved varieties of green gram and sesame
Achieved nearly a 50% yield increase through Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) practices.
Provided technical support to 27 FPOs/FPCs for the development of community-based local seed systems.
Incubated two women-led FPCs with more than 1500 members to establish local seed systems.
Aligning with SDGs
With a mandate to address the world’s most pressing challenges, IRRI is actively contributing to both national and global priorities in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the ClimatePRO project. Given the interconnected nature of the SDGs, it’s noteworthy that many of this project’s initiatives have a positive impact on multiple SDGs simultaneously.
